Grown at Hutchinson Farm since 1980s. Available in mid-September.

Genus: Cucurbita pepo
Height: 1 - 2"
Width: 3 - 5"
Weight: 6- 12 ozs.
Colour: Orange and white
Skin Texture: smooth with 10 deep grooves
Flesh: Orange

Aren't they the cutest pumpkins ever?
Botanically, mini pumpkins are closer to acorn squash, than they are to orange jack-o'-lantern pumpkins, so you may call them squash if you like. They're small and ornamental in function, so you can lump them in with gourds, but they're shaped like pumpkins, so feel free to call them pumpkins!

Jack-o'-Lanterns: Baby Boo is just too small, but the larger "mini's" can be carved! We use tea lights and cut a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin, and place the pumpkin over the candle...
Culinary: Edible? Yes! Worth it? No! There's only " of flesh!

In photo clockwise from left:
Lil' Orange Mon: Outstanding stem

Lil' Pump-Ke-Mon: Beautiful orange and white stripes
. Makes an awesome Jack-'o-Lantern -the flesh glows!
Jack Be Little: The smallest orange mini-pumpkin
Baby Boo: A tiny ghost pumpkin
Nice strong stem, great colour

Gooligan: (not in photo) A bit bigger than Baby Boo.
