Originally known as “Victor”, this heirloom pumpkin dates back to the late 1800's, and is gaining popularity since its re-introduction by Roger Rupp in 2000 as “Red Warty Thing” -the new name says it all! It has a rough and tough skin like a Hubbard squash, not at all surprising as it is a cross between a Hubbard and American Turban.

We've never tried it, but it is supposed to be a good eating pumpkin (or is it a squash?)
